The Structural Designer is responsible for 3D modeling of structures along with the design and drafting of 2D drawings that meet the client’s requirements and expectations while conforming to client specific CAD requirements for the associated project. Specific tasks include:
Design of steel, concrete and masonry structures.
3D modeling of existing and new structures in Revit.
Work in Navisworks 3D model review software to coordinate with other disciplines in the layout of support structures.
Work with laser scans of existing structures to develop the 3D model.
Develop framing and connection details based on complex existing geometry.
Develop steel framing plans and elevations from the Revit model.
Develop foundation plans, sections and details from the Revit model.
Develop building floor plans and elevations when required.
The Structural Designer should be aware that the design process includes visiting clients’ facilities, performing field investigation, performing as-built of existing conditions, assisting in scanning and surveying.
Qualifications:
Associate Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent
2+ years design/drafting experience & skilled in standard drafting techniques
Advanced knowledge of 3D modeling in Revit
Proficient in 2-D AutoCAD
Proficient in field investigations and measurements
Working knowledge of and an interest in structural layouts and details
Working knowledge of or familiarity with Microsoft Office products
Ability to work independently
Strong attention to detail and performing self-checking of work
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
