Procurement Specialist

Job Summary:
A procurement specialist is responsible for executing procurement activities for assigned projects, while maintaining a primary interface with project managers and the broader project team members. The type of goods and services procured varies from one industry and client to another with the underlying duty to meet the objectives and goals of our clients. Focus will be placed on securing goods and services for our clients at the best value regarding safety, quality, cost, and reputation. In all cases the role will strive to develop or enhance work practices that are consistent and valued by clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain procurement plans for individual or a portfolio of projects.
  • Execute low to high complexity RFPs / RFQs including effective negotiations as necessary.
  • Create thorough and clear contracts and purchase orders.
  • Proactively expedite equipment and materials to enable high quality and on-time delivery.
  • Ensure effective intervention and escalation to mitigate supplier performance issues.
  • Administer contract management including change management, invoice validation, and dispute resolution.
  • Develop and distribute procurement status reports to team members.
  • Proactive identification and mitigation of supply chain risks.
  • Professionally integrate and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure all procurement activity is executed in an ethical manner.
  • Perform all procurement activity in alignment with internal procedures and client standards.
  • Enhance ways of working and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Success Measurements:
  • Client objectives and goals are met.
  • Projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within controlled budgets.
  • Materials are received on-time and with no defects.
  • Supplier performance issues are effectively mitigated to minimize project disruption.
  • Growth and continuous learning to stay up to date on industry trends, products, services, and market conditions.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 2 years procurement experience or a supply chain graduate.
  • Strong analytical abilities.
  • Adept with using technologies to manage procurement functions.
  • Understanding of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
  • Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to influence others.
  • Can effectively address conflict and dispute resolution.
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Great organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and rapport building.
  • Experience working in teams with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to effectively present projects, status, to all levels including directors & client management.
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or other equivalent.
